HI. I’M LILLI WATERS.

At the core of my work is a documentary and candid approach, observing weddings as they naturally unfold. I am drawn to the often unnoticed in-between moments, the quiet gestures and fleeting interactions that hold something real and unspoken about a wedding day, along with the mood and feeling that lives within them.

With a background spanning fine art and editorial photography, I approach weddings with an artistic sensitivity to light, atmosphere, composition and human connection. My work blends artful portraiture with honest, feeling led moments, creating imagery that feels both refined and deeply personal. I capture weddings with an intuitive eye for emotion and intention.

Working with a quiet, calm and observational presence, I allow moments to unfold without interference, holding them as they are. Whether photographed digitally or through the nostalgic warmth of 35mm film, my aim is to preserve not only what happened, but how it felt, the atmosphere, tenderness, joy and intimacy of the day.

The result is imagery that feels emotionally true. Photographs that can be felt. Images that allow you to return not only to the memory of your wedding, but to something deeply lived.

Based in Melbourne, I have photographed weddings throughout Australia, Europe, New Zealand & beyond. My work has been featured in Harper’s Bazaar Bride, Hello May, The Lane, Ivory Tribe, The Wed, Bride Australia, Wedded Wonderland, Junebug Weddings, Rock’n’Roll Bride and Together Journal.

In order to remain present for every couple I work with, I take on only a limited number of weddings annually in Melbourne & across Australia. This allows me to approach each celebration thoughtfully and intentionally, creating photographs that feel intimate, atmospheric, and connected to the people within them.

The more detail you share, the more intentionally I can respond and ensure we’re aligned creatively and personally. Bookings are confirmed once your date is secured, and availability is limited.

“Where to even begin! We are so incredibly grateful and overjoyed with the photos Lilli took for us and her calming and professional presence on the day.

Lilli was communicative from the first email we sent and left us feeling very reassured that we were in safe hands.
